DR. BARRY LOTZ

Dr. Barry Lotz has been active in the financial and legal world for the past 32 years. Amongst his accomplishments are securing in excess of $100 million dollars for his own purposes both in the real estate development domain and in helping various indiv iduals, banks and corporations meet their financial needs. Amongst his clients are corporations such as McDonalds, American General Insurance Company, La Quinta Motor Inns, Safeway Stores, US Home Corporation and the Bass Brothers of Fort Worth, BMW (Sou th Africa), Unident (South Africa), Hobie, (South Africa), KFC (South Africa) and Magnum Diamonds (South Africa).
He currently works as a legal and financial consultant/negotiator and mediator to attorneys, banks, corporations and factoring companies both in the US and internationally. His fields of specialty are Credit Card Charge-Offs, Judgment Enforcement, Factor ing, Real Estate Development and Construction, the Golf industry and foreign acquisition and investments for both United States and South African clients.

In addition to dispute resolution, Dr. Lotz facilitates the negotiation of business transactions on a global basis, in situations in which a business deal may be in jeopardy as a result of impasse on specific issues or where time is of the essence and req uires accelerated negotiation.

Dr. Lotz attended law school both in South Africa and America and holds a Juris Doctorate degree. Additionally he is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and has a Doctorate in Business Management. He is a licensed attorney in South Africa with Gol dman, Judin & Werner.

In the United States, Dr. Lotz has completed in excess of 45 hours of Mediator training through both the Los Angeles County Bar Association Dispute Resolution Services and Professional Mediation Associates at the Dominican University. He is also a graduat e of the Straus Institute’s Advanced Mediation Skills Training Program.
He is a former director of the Harvard Business School Club in San Diego, President of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America, Executive Director of the 3000 plus membership Commercial Factors Association, a former bank director, San Diego Golf Advisory Council member, member of the San Diego Country Bar Association, American Bar Association – Dispute Resolution Section, SPIDR, International Association For Conflict Management, a licensed Real Estate lecturer for the State of Texas where he held a broker’s license. He is also a senior commercial member of the International Organization of Real Estate Appraisers and the American Society of Trial Consultants.

Dr. Lotz was formerly an adjunct professor of Law and Business at La Salle University. He has also lectured for the Jefferson Institute, the Gulf Coast School of Real Estate and a guest lecturer at the Harvard Business School’s Entrepreneur’s Club. He has been featured in Finance Week, The Houston Post, The Financial Freedom Report, Business Credit, What’s Working in Credit & Collections, SAJAC, California Woman’s Magazine, The Secured Lender and The Collector. Dr. Lotz writes and speaks for industry specific magazines and corporations such as Faulkner Grey, Credit Card Management, Ink and Collections & Credit Risk.

Dr. Lotz has authored 14 books to date.
